Moises Henriques is an Australian all-rounder in all three International formats of Cricket. He represented Australia twice in ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in 2004 and 2006. He is a right-arm medium pace bowler and right-handed batsman in the middle-order.
Moises Henriques was born on February 01, 1987 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. Moises is also called by his friends and teammates as Mozzie. He is the son of Portuguese Professional footballer, Alvaro. He attended to Endeavor Sports High. He represented New South Wales and Australia while attending high school. He is the first recipient of Rexona Australian Youth Cricket Scholarship. He had trouble choosing between bowling and batting to choose as his primary art.
Henriques played for Australian U-19 team in 2004 ICC U-19 World Cup and performed well, consequently he captained Australian U-19 squad in 2006 U-19 World Cup. He made his List-A debut in 2006 for New South Wales. He made his first-class debut in October, 2006 for South Australia at SCG, took 5 wickets and eventually, he got injured and dropped for over a year. He came back after performing well in Sydney Grade Cricket for St. George Club. He got his calf injury back in 2014-15 during Big Bash League. In 2015, while playing for Surrey against Sussex Sharks he had his jaw injured and got hospitalized.
Henriques made his test debut against India in Feb, 2013, ODI debut against India in October, 2013 and T20I debut against New Zealand in Feb, 2009. He played well against India in his first test series. He had hamstring injury while playing against India and ironically, he replaced Hopes who also got his hamstring injured.
He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2009 IPL auction. In 2013, by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Henriques also played for Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils and currently for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is a part of New South Wales in Australian domestic cricket. Moises Henriques considers Jacques Kallis as his inspiration.
