Jai Courtney is an Australian actor and former model, born on March 15, 1986 to Chris, a worker in an electricity company and Karen, a teacher in Sydney, NSW. He has 2 elder sisters and all 3 went to same school their mother worked. He grew up in suburbs of Sydney.
Jai, before starting his career studied at Cherrybrook Technology High School and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He started his career in 2005 in short film Boys Grammar. He starred in Packed to the Rafters, All Saints, To Hell and Bourke with few other short films and projects. His first big movie was in Jack Reacher, opposite to Tom Cruise in 2012 followed by role as Jack, John McClane’s son in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013). Before this he played Varro in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
He starred as Eric in Divergent (2014) and Insurgent (2015), in Terminator Genisys and in Suicide Squad in 2016. His other less known movies include Unbroken, The Water Diviner, and I, Frankenstein (2014).
He is living in Los Angeles, California since November, 2012. He has been in relationship with Gemma Pranita which ended in 2013 and now with Mecki Dent.
