Akmal Saleh is an Egyptian Australian Comedian & actor by profession. He was born on 21st Jul 1964 in Egypt. Peter moved to Sydney in 1972 at the age of 8 and grew up in New South Wales. His father Riyadh is a university professor while his mother Marie Saleh is a housewife. After death of his father at the age of 14, Peter joined Coptic Orthodox Christian Church. He found the religion as “corrupt and hypocritical”. Peter disillusionment with Christianity became a subject of comedy in his stand up routine. Peter started his stand up comedy journey in 1990 when he took part in an Open Mic night at the Sydney Comedy Store. Before comedy he used to drive a taxi for living. Pete became an ambassador for the Top Blokes Foundation in 2013. Peter is married to Cate who is a social worker.
