Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australian National broadcaster owned and funded by Government of Australia. This corporation plays a leading role in shaping the broadcasting in Australia. It broadcasts shows on national television, educational and cultural shows on radio, mobile services and online shows.<\/p>\n

It was founded in 1929 as Australian Broadcasting Company, changed name to Australian Broadcasting Commission in 1932. After passing Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act in 1983, its name had to be changed to Australian Broadcasting Corporation, owned by Government but editorially independent according to the Act.<\/p>\n

This corporation\u2019s Board of seven Directors is selected by Governor-General on Government\u2019s recommendation and the Managing Director is elected by these Board Members having expertise in broadcasting communications, management, technical, cultural and political interests aligned with broadcasting.<\/p>\n

ABC board follows the principle of delivering impartial and independent news with recognized standards of objective journalism. However, corporation has face accusation from political parties to deliver partial views and news. A media credibility survey showed that ABC radio is the most impartial source of news in the country.<\/p>\n

ABC provides services on Television, Online, Commercial, International and Orchestras.<\/p>\n
