James Faulkner is an Australian all-rounder, a right handed batsman and a left-arm medium pacer who has accomplished an image of being a finisher when Australia is batting first against any team and an economical bowler in death overs.
James Peter Faulkner was born on April 29, 1990 in Launceston, Tasmania. His father Peter Faulkner was also a cricketer who played for Tasmanian State Team.
James Faulkner captained Tasmania’s U-17 state team being a part of state’s U-19 team. He was selected for Australian U-19 team for ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in 2008. He plays in all the formats of International Cricket for Australia. He helped Tasmania to capture Sheffield Shield title for the third time in 2012-13 and won Man of the Match.
Faulkner started his test career against England in 2013, ODI career against West Indies in 2013 at W.A.C.A, Perth. He won the Man of the Match award for Australia in 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup Finals and took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka to become the 6th Australian to do so and second against Sri Lanka.
Besides playing for Australia and Tasmania, Faulkner plays for Gujarat Lions in IPL. He has played for Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors India, Lancashire and Melbourne Stars.
