Glenn Maxwell is an Australian all-rounder, a right-handed opening batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler for One Day and T20I team. He helped Australia to post the highest score by a team in International T20 Cricket against Sri Lanka in September, 2016.
Glenn James Maxwell was born on October 14th, 1988 in Kew, Victoria. He started playing for South Belgrave CC as a fast bowler, eventually turning into an off-spinner. In media, he is commonly known as ‘The Big Show’.
Maxwell started his test cricket against India in March, 2013, ODI cricket against Afghanistan in August 2012 and T20I cricket against Pakistan in September, 2012. He scored a century and two half-centuries in 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. He scored 145 off 65 balls in a T20I match against Sri Lanka, becoming the second-highest scorer in a T20 match. However, he couldn’t do well in test cricket, therefore, was dropped in 2014 after series against Pakistan.
Maxwell in IPL was bought first by Mumbai Indians for $1 million in 2012, before that he played for Delhi Daredevils. In 2014, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab. He plays his first-class cricket for Victoria and Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League. In English County Cricket, he played for Surrey, Hampshire and now currently plays for Yorkshire. Maxwell has played many great innings in T20 Cricket in IPL and International Cricket.
