Abbie Cornish is an Australian actress, rapper, songwriter and singer. She is also known by the name Dusk. She’s been active in the film and television industry since 1997. Abbie was born in Lochinvar, NSW to Shelley and Barry Cornish. She is second of their 5 children. Her sister Isabelle Cornish is also an actress. Abbie skipped year 8 high school and was always fascinated by foreign and independent films.
She started her career as model, reached finals of Dolly Magazines at the age of 13. She appeared in ABC’s TV series, Wildside, earned herself Australian Film Institute Young Actor’s Award and a role in feature film The Monkey’s Mask in 1999. However, he stardom came in 2004 after she did a short film with Hugo Weaving, Everything Goes.
She then did Somersault, received numerous awards such as Australian Film Institute Awards, FCCA, IF Awards and Miami Film Festival Award. She then starred in Candy opposite to Heath Ledger. In 2010, she co-starred with Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro in Limitless. Other notable movies include, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, A Good Year, and Stop-Loss etc. Abbie replaced Emily Blunt in The Girl. She co-starred with Woody Harrelson and Colin Farrell in Seven Psychopaths, in 2014, she did RoboCop Reboot, in 2015, Solace, and in 2016, The Girl Who Invented Kissing.
