Miranda May Kerr is an Australian model and she is one of the highest paid model since 2008 by Forbes. Miranda is the first Australian Victoria’s Secret Model who represented Australian department store David Jones.
Miranda was born (20 April 1983) in Sydney and raised in Gunnedah, NSW by her mother Therese and father John Kerr. She has one younger brother. Their family moved to Brisbane and she graduated from All Hallows’ School in 2000. She began her modeling career when she was 13 and won Dolly Magazine model search competition in 1997. She studied Nutrition and Health Psychology.
She started shooting in Sydney for Dolly Magazine at 14 of which media made a deal out of nothing. Then she signed up with Chic Management’s Sydney Division for professional exposure. She became model for surf wear brands like Billabong, Roxy, and One Teaspoon etc. wearing beachwear in ads. She then moved to New York.
In New York, she appeared for runways and signed up with NEXT Model Management in 2004. She appeared for print campaigns for many labels including Levi’s, Baby Phat, Alex Perry, L.A.M.B., Rock and Republic, Anna Molinari, Jets, John Richmond and many other brands, magazines and labels in Australia and USA. In 2006, she appeared on TV show Project Runway.
She signed with Maybelline, New York and after her success, she was offered to be Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2007, becoming the first Australian to do so. She joined with lingerie giants like Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima and Heidi Klum etc. She appeared on Victoria’s Secret TV shows for 4 years from 2006-09. She joined fashion retailer Arden B in 2007, fragrance Clinique Happy in 2008 and David Jones. In 2009, she posed naked to raise awareness for Koalas, launched her organic skincare product, KORA Organics, left NEXT Model Management and joined IMG Models. Ended the year by walking for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She then worked as high fashion model, walked for brands and labels, calendars, shot for various some photographers. She was in top 10 models earning the highest in 2010.
This modeling career and success continued. She left David Jones in 2013. She kept walking for new and different labels, working on her own company of Skincare Products and wrote self-help books for teenage women. Miranda was in controversies because of her boyfriends. She first got married to Orlando Bloom, gave birth to a child and divorced him in 2013. She dated Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel in 2015 and married him in 2017.
