  1. Good afternoon,

I am the proud owner of a D-Max 2014 model (165,00km). This is my second Isuzu purchase, the first being a 2011 D-Max.
I love my vehicle therefore when it comes time to upgrade renew, I will be buying another Isuzu 4×4. I do however, have one issue with the vehicle, that has been an issue since purchased new. The gearbox has a ‘gravelly’ sound in neutral, first gear and second gear.
I have discussed the issue with Southwest Isuzu, who I always utilise to service my vehicle. I am extremely happy with the service but have not managed to get this issue sorted.
I have researched various forums and discovered this complaint is a common problem of that model. I have also read the good and bad experiences people have had with their dealers sorting the problem.
The most common comment is that Isuzu acknowledges the issue but states it has no detriment to the gearbox. As my vehicle is getting older, the noise is getting louder. It is especially concerning when noticed by my 74 year old mother.
There is a suggestion in the forums, that it is related to the fifth gear synchro?
I would appreciate your thoughts in regard to this concern and if Isuzu will contribute to rectyiying this issue.

I look forward to your reply.

    Regards

  2. Hello to all readers,

In May this year I had the unenviable experience of having our D-Max ute being delivered to Darwin Isuzu UTE on the back of a tow truck.

In my eagerness to continue our trip to Broome I had absentmindedly put 43 litres of unleaded fuel instead of diesel into the tank and proceeded to drive another 200 kilometres west of Katherine to Victoria River Roadhouse. This was where I discovered my error.

From the moment I arrived at Darwin Izuzu UTE I received outstanding support and service from all who were involved with my case.

I fully expected to be in Darwin for quite some time but due to the efficiency and professionalism of the staff I was in for an unbelievable surprise. With up to four mechanics working on the car simultaneously for almost two hours, I was informed that my D-Max was ready to continue the trip.

Before leaving I was reminded by the Manager and the chief mechanic of just how strong these Isuzu motors really are. I was also assured that the car had many more trips to be made worry-free. That’s providing I used the correct fuel!

My wife and I have been able to continue our trip to Broome and farther south to Perth without any further dramas. Currently our caravan and great D-Max are having a good spell before returning to the Tweed area in Spring.

A huge thanks to the staff of Darwin Isuzu UTE.

    Cheers
    Michael Craven

  3. I’ve had the most unfortunate experience in not having received my vechicle …. seems like too many excuses and buck passing. Even when emailing Isuzu I continually was told you have the wrong department even though it was customer feedback .What should be a great experience in picking up the new vechicle is turning out to be a real issue . We even took a day off work only to be told at the last minute that it wasn’t ready even after 4 weeks . So I have a real issue with the service and can’t even say if Isuzu is what it’s made out to be ….
