  1. a couple of weeks ago we were wee searching Internet options for ourselves. We found what we liked online but can be purchased at your dandenong store only. We drove past our local store to get to the Dandening store to purchase our internet vivid. Now you website said available yes at Dandening store only. On arrival we were greeted by sales staff and we asked to buy vivid. The staff member looked surprised ! Then we were told , no that’s not available. I did mention to the staff that it was advertised on your internet as being a available now. He well it’s not. He offered no other information So I asked when will it be available He said u don’t know. He didn’t even offer to find out For us
    We walked out

We are decucted with the service we got from your store at Benetts green store Samantha was so rude we have purched thousands of dollars over years we bought a full leather lounge 4,500 dollars and took out the leather protect package it is wearing in a few places have had experts look at it and all agree that it is a fault in the leather no one from your store have bee out to look at it Samantha told me I have been negltfull love your bad service not shame Harvey Norman

We are so disappointed with the way we not only spoken to by your store owner Samantha we have been very good customers over many years we bought a full leather lounge at Benetts green store it has badly worn in several places no one from your staff has even been out to see it and I have had two experts that both agree it is a fault in the leather we also took out the protection warranty Samantha was just so rude and told me I was neglectful we are 63 and 75 will never shop there again do hope I do not want to get legal involved but may have to thank you

  4. @Lynette Taylor Call the department of fair trading ask about your rights. They will direct you on what steps to take to get Harvey Norman to take responsability. Once you mention you have spoken to them they will likely be a lot more helpful. if not a letter to fair trading will get their help with the matter. Harvey norman and their like pray on the fact we dont know our rights.

Office of Fair Trading were no help with my issue, purchased a Lounge Suite from Harvey Norman Cairns and the headrest mechanisms broke, they did replace but did not fix the problem, Harvey Norman have now wiped their hands and said it is wear and tear, you would hope to get more than 18 months out of an expensive purchase.

  6. I am disappointed at the customer service that I have received at your Lake Haven NSW store on several occasions. The Electrical and Computer sections of this store have just ignored my presence as I have waited for attention from a salesperson. Firstly, several months ago my wife and I wished to purchase a new Miele Stainless Steel dishwasher We stood by the section of available dish washers they had for sale in this store for in excess of 20 minutes and were not approached by any store salesman. We simply walked out in disguist and drove all the way over to Domayne at West Gosford where on arrival at the Electrical we were attended to immediately and purchased the dish washer recommended to us by a delightful salesman. Today, I went to the Lake Haven store to seek advice and possible purchase of a new Toshiba Lap top computer I was just left simply standing around the computer section and could not get any one to assist me. When I did ask for some help I was approached by a chap who said he was the Norton Software Representative and he could only answer some of my questions as he was not a lap top specialist I know it was 12.15pm in the day, I was apologized to by the young lady on the cashier desk as I again walked out of the store. Looks like another trip to Domayne, West Gosford.
    I will buy on line in future as I have the impression Management at Lake Haven, Harvey Norman are incompetent in customer service and satisfaction.

  7. Jenni Franz – Carindale. Avoid at all costs. The rudest, most disrespectful person I’ve encountered in “customer service”. How she ever landed that role is beyond me. An absolute disgrace who has treated me with nothing but discontent. Not one phone call has ever been made TO ME. I, on the other hand, have phoned, emailed, sent more emails with attached photos, contacted management, the ACL! etc etc yet nothing once from her. My sofa had every cushion replaced after two weeks. 3 weeks later, the entire suite replaced. Two weeks upon receiving new suite, all cushions were again in a dreadful state. When I phoned again, I was met with “not doing any more due to change of mind”. Excuse me??? Change of mind! So 2 replacements in the first few weeks of ownership, all agreed by the store itself that there was full faults in the sofa and yet apparently you only get 2 replacements. 3rd time, you’re on your own with a faulty sofa. Disgrace. As for the other staff, all been lovely. Jenni Franz, the rudest person I’ve ever had the displeasure.

  8. We have been happy with our purchases and service at Harvey Norman.
    On the other hand…. I feel for the staff as I have heard it is a stressful job. AND franchisee of “sister” store had much difficulty allowing staff member to change hours due to Uni studies. We were left wondering if this was Gerry Harvey’s Grandchild trying to achieve, one would think being the entrepreneur that he is would be behind them 100%. Yes Mr Harvey I would like to have a chat.

  9. Till last week I was one of the regular customres of Harvey Norman in Gepps Cross in SA, but not anymore. Its sad to say that I decided to don’t buy any thing from Harvey Norman which was my favourite. On 28th on November 2015 they delivered my dinning table to me which was still in its box and in same place which the delivery guys left it in my spare house room. Because of some repairment in my kitchen, unfortunately I couldn’t assemble the table till last Saturday 30th of October 2016. May be you ask why? Of couse, because I’m a carer in nursing home and I don’t get an enough pay and plus of that all the bills and uni pay did not let me to fix the plumbing in my kitchen. When after all of these overwelme time, when I opened the box I found that the corner of the table was damaged already, which I swear to God I didn’t do anything which could damge it. Anyway when I called the store and I sent the photos for them which the picture of the box was still in photo they refused to replace it for me and at the endthey ssuggested to resell the new one to me. It is very hart breaking for me that I can’t afford to pay for new set :(. I was expecting from such a big company to at least could trust me when I told them I swear to God I didn’t damage it. And when they could see in my profile that I bought almost all of my furniture and electronic and electric stuff from them. Of course by lay by:(. I’m really sad and disappointed.

  10. These deplorable comments are a classic case of the “abnormal” becoming the “NORM”. Spending $000’s @ Harvey Norman , no matter where , ends up leaving you with a bad taste in your mouth. ” UnAustralian i believe , ” quote , unquote” i believe. Up yours “Gerry”. Somewhere , sometime a HARVEY purchase will get you a SHAFTING. You buy and then you are simply a number. The Waurn Ponds store is no exception. Repitition business over 10-15 years means stuff all . Well Gerry , uve finally done it , my daughter , moving into her first home , last weekend , went straight to Good Guys in Geelong & spent $3500. We are going down this weekent to buy her a washing machine @ Good Guys. Straight past your Waurn Ponds store to buy on service, not price. Thats what you get for not honoring your “product care ” which we paid extra for. YEP. Now your arrogant franchisee’s and staff and customer service are allowing us to AFFECT your business through our families . Multiplication is a facinating tool. Numbers rule ” Mr Norman”.

Hi to Harvey Norman I’m trying give my three children a Christmas every year my husband and my self have help give other families a great Christmas we are both on pension when we ask people if they could help us they say no because you stop giving gifts to our children I would like to know if you could help us this year we have a interlectually impaired daughter of 18 a sixteen year old son with anxiety disorders and a soon to be fifteen year old daughter we are not ones to ask for support but we are busy paying all our bills and we can’t give the kids Christmas this year can you please help us .thanks kindly mrs Debbie wright

  13. I purchased 8 Dining Star Chairs from the Sunshine store on the 31/10/2016. They were delivered to me on the 13/11/2016. Out of the 8 Chairs, the seat of 1 chair is broken. So I rang on the 10/01/2017 and spoke to Caroline in the furniture section and explained to her what the situation was. She told me that i have to wait for 7-10 days for me to get a replacement chair. She also said that she does not have a magic wand to replace it straightaway as she does not have the stock in store. Her tone of voice was very rude and unfriendly.

    I then rang back again on the 19/01/2017 to see if there has been any progress made to this and I was again told by her that she has not heard anything back from her supplier so I just have to wait. She told me that she will give me a call back when she has got the chair in store.

    I did not hear back from her or anyone else so I rang again for the third time on the 23/01/2017 and was told by her again that it will take another 7-10 days for me to get this chair.

    Again I did not hear back from her so i rang for the fourth time on the 19/02/2017 and was told by a guy called – Claude who also works in the furniture section that Caroline is not in today and will be back on Monday. i explained the whole situation again to him and he promised me that he will get Caroline to ring me back on Monday to let me know what’s happenning with my chair. I asked him who the owner of the store is and he replied Sharon Forbes but she is not in today and will be back on Tuesday next week i.e. 21/02/2017.

    I rang again on the 24/02/2017 for the 5th time and spoke to Caroline who was very rude, arrogant and full of attitude and kept cutting me off. She was not polite at all and kept on saying that she cannot do anything else and that i have to wait for another 3 weeks more at this stage. She again said that she does not have a magic wand. When I asked to speak to Sharon Forbes – owner of the store she point blank refused me very bluntly and said that you do not have to speak to Sharon as she (Caroline) is the manager and that she is speaking to me. I asked her at least 5 times if she could get Sharon to ring me back but she refused. She said that i am wasting her time and going around in circles. When I asked her why did she not return my call when Claude told her she said that she forgot. She made fun of me by saying that it is only a chair and not a life.

    I am appalled at the lack of customer service that I have got at the Sunshine store and I will ensure that i or anyone of my friends or relatives or whoever i speak to do not buy any stuff from Harvey Norman store again. The way I was spoken to and have been dealt with was absolutely disgusting to say the least. I did not expected this kind of service from a Harvey norman store. This has tainted their image in my eyes permanently.

  14. Just went to the Harvey Norman store in Chirnside park Vic.( Info) I had bought a phone from the shop last week. My original phone was stolen. I required to get the photo’s from my previous phone transfered. I had them on a card. I did not have time on that date so, the person that sold me the new phone said come back when you can and we will do the transfer. Plus I had to put phone numbers in singular. Well I had some trouble, so being my first chance I went to the store. On entering the store a salesman asked if he could help. I started to explain to him then the person that sold me the phone came over. And he knew why I was there. This is why I am pissed off. He “said” sorry you picked the wrong day we are so busy. This was Bull there was hardly anybody in that section. (how come 2 people can come straight to me if they were so busy. ) I then told him what else I was having trouble with and he started playing with the phone. All the while another unsatisfied person wanted a refund. So his attention went from me to watching what was going on elsewhere. He done a few things couldnt fix my phone and then he said it is my phone carriers fault. My bitch is that the service was not there. They need to treat customers that require assistance with respect.

We purchased BRAND new products from Harvey Norman…white goods, and furniture …the beds broke within 12 months, and the supposedly SOLID WOOD dining chairs came apart soon after…exposing the cheap material used in the products….I’m disgusted in the workmanship and quality of the so called ‘solid wood’ products….will definitely NOT recommend Harvey Norman furniture, or buy anything else form them

  16. Harvey Norman is a JOKE !! No service at all ever; will never return. Give me The Good Guys or Harris Scarfe. Prices too high and service non existent . Wake up Gerry, get off the track and attend to business. Worried about Amazon ? yep u should be cos you not in the race !!

  17. Our daughter and son in law went to the Harvey Norman store at Warrawong to purchase an Apple Computer worth approx $2700. As they were teachers they were entailed to the teachers discount but on telling the salesperson this he did not want to know them. They returned to the store the next day hoping to get a better response but were told ” purchase it from the internet”. this is what they did. As we have listened to gerry harvey on numerous occasions tell people to purchase in store not on line perhaps he needs to tell his sales people. They will not return to this store for any purchases . if it is any consolation Domayne was just as rude. – Kay
